Indoor Air Quality

Between work and home life, the average person spends about 90% of their time indoors! Indoor air can be 2 to 5 times more polluted than outside air. In fact, the Environmental Protection Agency ranked indoor air quality as a top 5 environmental danger.

A well-insulated home can help with your energy bills by keeping a constant temperature, but that also leads to the same air being recycled through your home each time you run your air conditioner or furnace. Be sure you have proper filtration in place to prevent allergens and bacteria from circulating around your air.

All City Heat and Air can help you breathe easy. Call us today at 704-545-2000 and we can put together a plan for your home!

Air Ducts

According to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Star program, leaky ducts in attics or crawlspaces can account for 20% or more of a home’s heating and cooling energy losses. This makes it difficult to keep your house comfortable and can result in higher utility bills. Some signs that you may have leaky ducts include:

  • High Summer and Winter utility bills
  • Rooms that are difficult to heat and cool
  • Stuffy rooms that never seem to feel comfortable
  • Ducts are located in an attic, crawlspace, or the garage
  • Tangled or kinked flexible ducts in your system

Humidifiers and Dehumidifiers

The comfort of your home not only depends on the air temperature but also the amount of moisture in the air.

Cold weather typically means dry, uncomfortable air. Dry air can cause respiratory problems as well as damage wooden furniture. Whole home humidifiers emit water vapor to increase the humidity in your home.

On the other hand, hot weather can mean thick, humid air. This can lead to condensation on your windows, mold spots on walls or ceilings, blistering paint or peeling wallpaper, just to list a few issues. A whole home dehumidifier removes excess moisture from the air in your home.

Humidifiers can improve your indoor air quality as well as positively impact the overall health of your family and health of your home. Controlling the humidity in your home will help protect not only your respiratory system but also your wood floors, furniture and artwork.

Let the professionals at All City Heat and Air help you decide what’s best for your home! Call us at 704-545-2000 or request service online today.

All City is a fantastic company

All City is a fantastic company. The technicians, installers and office staff are great to work with and the prices are fair.

Here’s my story: In the middle of winter this year I came home from work and found that my furnace had stopped functioning. I called a company I had used once before, but they did not answer the phone. The next call was to All City and they answered the phone, so they got my business. They worked with me to schedule a time that was convenient for me and determined a solution to the problem. I’m pretty handy, and the technician told me how I could fix it on my own to save some money. He charged me a fair price for the visit and left. After I made the suggested repair the problem did not go away. This time, when they came out, it was 2 guys. They checked my work and found it to be fine, and started troubleshooting. They determined a solution and because they considered it to be part of the original call, did not charge me for the 2nd visit. This happened 2 more times. After the 4th visit, working their way down the list of possible solutions, they struck gold and the furnace worked without trouble for the rest of the season.

Fast forward to the beginning of the following winter. The furnace showed the same malfunction as before. I called All City (of course) and they came out as soon as they were available to work on it. Unfortunately, the final diagnosis was a bad heat exchanger and we did have to replace it. But, they considered that final visit to be part of the original visit.

All City charged me for the original visit, and came back to my house multiple times, the last time nearly 7 months after the previous time. Because they had not yet fixed the original problem, they considered each subsequent visit to be part of the original and did not charge me again.

The furnace replacement was a great experience as well. The install team was professional and did a great job. Jeff came out to start it up and walked me through all the new functions. The price was fair and you couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with.

I won’t call anyone else to work on my HVAC system. They didn’t install the A/C, but when it inevitably breaks, I’ll be calling All City for that too.

Call All City Heat & Air. You’ll be glad you did.

Our experience with All City Heat & Air was fantastic. We had received the standard sales pitches already from the major “big names” everyone sees on TV and felt like we were getting nothing but “canned” recommendations and quotes….plus, the quotes were ridiculously high. However, after speaking with Jeff and meeting Ernie, I finally felt like I was talking with people I could truly trust. Their recommendation and quote was well thought out and very reasonable. In the end, they promised Friday installation, and lo and behold…it was indeed installed on Friday. My wife and I are thrilled with our system. The BIGGEST sales point for me is that THEY service the 5-year warranty that comes with their installations. No worthless 3rd-party warranty that you have to pay for ON-TOP of the price of installation by the other guys!! These guys back-up their installations. That says something in this day and age. Need a new system? Call All City Heat & Air. You’ll be glad you did.
